World Wide Cotton Shortage |
| Posted by Central Laundry Admin (aaron) on Apr 07 2011 |
Due to various factors including crop failures, flooding and the ever increasing demand (especially from India and China) for cotton the prices continue to rise at an alarming rate.
From a price of 77 cents a pound in January 2010 it has now risen to 213 cents a pound. This has led to a steep increase in the cost of all cotton items. This is being reflected in unavoidable rising prices for all users of rental linen. The situation is not expected to improve until 2012/13.
